I have been asked to help coordinate a conference for approximately 65 attendees. This is a new area for me. The options have been narrowed down to two locations: Atlanta or Orlando. See the list below for sites. I am interested in obtaining feedback (pros and cons) for any event you might have held at these conference locations.
Atlanta:
- Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center
- Atlanta Marriott Downtown
- Hilton Atlanta
- Hyatt Regency Atlanta
- The Westin Buckhead Atlanta
- The Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta
Orlando:
- Hilton Orlando
- Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando
- Orlando World Center Marriott
- Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld
- Rosen Shingle Creek
Thank you.

I just sent Board members to training at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel. They just praised the hotel. One thing, though, they are far from the airport and do not provide transportation, i.e. shuttle service, so I did have to rent a shuttle through the Atlanta Superior Shuttle. I have not held any conferences in Orlando, but am located in Tampa. If considering Tampa, I can recommend the Intercontinental Hotel, where I hold my board meetings. Great staff, impressive meeting rooms and hotel rooms.

My company has held several events at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort and has another scheduled there early next year. It was preferred to Cancun.

I worked for Loews Hotel at Universal Orlando, which includes the Royal Pacific Resort. It's a great place - wonderful ambiance - the theming travel to the Pacific on PanAm flying boats, etc. They are a great resort with great conference facilities. Packages may be tailored include tickets to the Universal Theme parks/City Walk venues. It will be a great overall experience for all attendees.

I have used the Atlanta Marriott Downtown.....Marriott is always our first choice due to their commitment to service and I have never had a problem with any Marriott in 12+ years nationwide and in Mexico. They are great to work with and highly recommend them anytime, anywhere.

The World Marriott Center Orlando is great - I've held several events there with more than 1,000 participants/attendees - so 65 should be a piece of cake for them

Never been to any of these but I do have one suggestion. What's the venue? Is it the hotel or attractions near the hotel? Will your guests be in the area long enough to enjoy the tourist attractions in Orlando, or will all of their time be tied up at and in the hotel? In other words, if they can't get to Sea World, what's the point?
Good luck! They all look like fun places to be!

I see from the list of hotels you have, you have an extensive list. Work this as a project. Since you have two cities, narrow your choice to one in each city. Your accomodations is for 65 people and a conference room to fit 75 people to include the refreshments table. Narrow your cost without losing your catering service. By narrowing your cost, your boss will love you for that. Try that and see how it works.
