I would like to know more efficiant ways to update our contact information than emailing and calling. Please let me know if you have better ideas. Thank you.

Our dept uses Sharepoint. It's kind of like our own website. We share docs, newsletters, we have our own calendar -- to see who's in/out for the day -- birthdays -- anniversaries, contact info, pics, threaded messages, make announcements, etc. We like it a lot!
If you are not able to get Sharepoint, then go with Outlook. Use the "contacts" section and give rights to everyone so they can update it whenever its convenient.
