My jog responsabilities are changing a bit. As part of a growing experience I have been asked to get involved with handling the department budget. This is something I have never done so I am wondering if anyone knows of some good seminars/training? Thank you

Mine have been changed as well( I had to transfer temporarily to our Accounting Department and what we did was contact our Accounting Software company and did some telephone trainings, but they also had training available at their site and were willing to come to us. So you may want to look into what suits you best. Sabrina Fletcher on 8/24/2011 6:16:50 AM
The same thing happened to me and the company paid for me to go to the local career center and take accounting 1,2 & 3. Finding a good, understandable mentor is also very helpful, but learning basic accounting was the basis. Good luck. Anonymous on 8/23/2011 6:16:53 PM
Martha, there is no better training than from the experienced person that is currently working on the department budget. Although outside training is good if you do not have any basic knowledge of accounting, shadowing a fellow worker may give you a baseline of what kind of outside training you may need. Hope that helps and good luck! TinkS on 8/23/2011 3:04:25 PM
