I am working on a phone directory (names and extensions of employees), using InDesign.
It is set up on an 8.5x11 page (3 columns), so there's a name, then.............., then a four-digit extension number.
Example: Pitt, Brad..............1111
How do I use the Tabs so the numbers line up evenly?
Thanks.

I like to use the "right justified" tab format for lists such as your phone directory or tables of contents where you list a page number following a topic. Just format your tab to a right justified with dot leaders. That should do the trick. Just type the person's name, hit the tab which will take you to the far right, then type the number. When you hit the right justified tab it will go all the way to the right, but as you enter the text it will work out fine.

To my knowledge, InDesign should be used to create posters, flyers, brochures, magazines and books. I would suggest using the tables feature in Word or using Excel.

You have to format your tabs. In Word, go to your ribbon where you find the Paragraph Info. In the bottom left hand corner there is a button "TABS". Enter the number you want the info to start on, like "6", then click on the Leader button (dots) or dashes) then hit "OK".
