Tent Card

In the past I have typed the first/last name of the attendees, with their company's name below the name and if I can get a copy of their company's logo, I would add that to the upper left hand corner of the card.

Recently my boss hosted a large dinner of 20 guests (who did not know each other) and I hand wrote the tent cards ON BOTH SIDES. One of the guests I know called and thanked me for this because the guests could see the names across the table and see who they were speaking with. Carol Green on 12/23/2009 11:15:10 AM
Our facility uses Avery product #5305 (medium tentcard) or #5309 (large tentcard). These work pretty well in our laser printers. Charlita Wright on 11/16/2009 12:01:02 PM
We use the Avery Tent Cards (AVE 5309 - large, 8.5 x 11). They have a line for folding, and since they are Avery, you can use the Word Label Template. It's very easy. And being in Word, you can add graphics, lines, and format them in a variety of ways. Anonymous on 11/16/2009 11:05:10 AM
I use Microsoft Publisher and make them all uniform. Using a script font in big bold letters helps as well. Putting either your logo or their company's logo on it is also a nice touch. Just make sure that they are all uniform. Use cream colored cardstock or thick resume paper as well. DeDe on 11/16/2009 10:32:52 AM
You can purchase sturdy tent cards from Avery - through any office supply store. Decide on whether the full name, first name... or what is important and use very large lettering for that. For example, if the first name is what everyone will use, put that in a large font (like 48 or more) and then put their last name in a small font (like 20) below it. Put the logo of the host in the bottom right corner on EVERY card for consistency. Stay away from titles, unless important. Namecards are to identify names. When you put them on the table, you can slightly fold the top corners (crimp them) identical on both sides... to keep the tent card from falling flat over the course of the day. What I have done in the past is use the company logo from each prospective company. You can pull them from their websites. It adds a nice touch to the tent card. You would cut and then paste them on each card. SGunderson on 11/16/2009 9:39:53 AM
