I work for a small company and we are currently renting a postage machine. My boss had asked me to take a look at Stamps.com and I was wondering if there was someone/company that uses this? We are trying to weight the pros and cons.
Thank you,
Sherrie

Here's a link that weighs the pros and cons:

You might also look into on-line services at usps.com. Just this week, I visited with a US Postal rep regarding a business account for priority mail. Because we have a meter I didn't want to hear the on-line story. But on-line postage does offer some discounts. I do believe it is a pay-as-you-go set up as well.
You can buy stamps, print labels, etc all at your computer.

I currently use Stamps.com and really like it. It runs $15.99 per month but the convenience outweighs that cost. You can load your postage and then print stamps (on stock that needs to be purchased) or directly on the envelope along with your return address and the address it goes to. You can also print shipping labels on regular Avery 2x4 labels for larger envelopes and packages. For the stamps you can print 1 or a whole sheet at a time and you can print any amount on each stamp that you need. I do contract work and the office that I am in now has a meter also but I feel that stamps.com has more flexibility.

I work for a small company too and stamps.com has worked out for us.
We had to buy a small scale, but we find it easy and much cheaper than the expensive meter we used to lease (not to mention the expense of the new chip every time the postage goes up). It doesn’t help out with the occasional mailings- we do miss the meter for those, but for everyday mailing- it’s been great for us.
We buy the packages of stamps and usually don’t print more than 3 at a time- if that.
