Legitimate home-based admin opportunity

Does anyone know of a legitimate opportunity for someone with excellent admin skills to work from home? All of the postings online seem questionable. Thanks for any advice!

I would love to learn more information on VA's. I currently work full-time, but would like to do something extra for more cash. email me at sgechas@gmail.com! Anonymous on 5/15/2009 1:53:31 PM
All, I would like to consider us combing forces and starting a business of this sort. I just purchased a domain called yourinstantassistant.com. Anyone interested in forming a partnership and starting SMALL but then considering growing? I would like to offer a subscription service for small independents to help build the business. Today's day and age is encouraging less investment in admin asst.s, but professionals aren't learning what they need to in order to get this going. My email address is king@yourinstantassistant.com. Please send me an email and copy of your resume if interested. Jaisend on 8/20/2008 7:57:04 AM
Julie, I just read the posts that the others have left. I am also looking for a work at home opportunity. Please pass along any information you receive. I am currently working as a courier for a local company, but what I make isn't paying the bills. I need to find something full time. Thanks. Bonita Smith on 5/9/2008 7:51:07 PM
Hi Julie, I am the owner of a virtual assistant business, Rogers Executive Administrative Services (www.easmyworkload.com) and work from home. If you really want to learn how to be a VA there are numerous networking avenues you can take. You can start with checking out IVAA (www.ivaa.org) and VANA (www.vanetworking.com). You will find out about other areas you can check out as you network with everyone on these sites. There are numerous VAs whose business consist of a team of VAs and this may be just what your looking for if you don't want to own your own business. If I can be of any help to you please contact me at smrogers@easmyworkload.com. Julie, I have also been interested in doing something like this, maybe after retirement, so I would be interested in what you find out. In the meantime, I started handpainting wineglasses. I have had one show at my workplace, which allows us to do once a year, and it was very successful. If you have a talent, you might try something like that. I feel my admin skills helped me with organization and marketing. Jane Pinnix, Asheboro, NC Jane Gerringer on 5/9/2008 8:32:50 AM
Hello! I am a Virtual Assistant (www.outofofficeinc.com). I've had my own business for two years and and it is working fabulous. As a VA, I provide admin support out of the comfort of my home office, services are on a contractual basis with my clients. There are several VA associations to help you do your research (e.g., IVAA). This allows you to be your own boss, start a company of your own as an entrepreneur and choose who you want to work with. If you'd like more info I'd love to talk with you, feel free to contact me. Kimberly Kissel on 5/9/2008 8:10:26 AM
Hi - I belong to the International Association of Administative Professionals and a member of our chapter became self employed and contracts her services out to various clients. I can put you in touch with her and she can fill in the blanks Barbara Snyder on 5/9/2008 8:03:20 AM
I'm another one that would like to work from home. Other than starting your own business (which I do not want to do), I don't have any answers. Please share with us if you learn of a legitimate business. Claudia Hodges on 5/9/2008 7:57:26 AM
