Seeking Relocation Information in Washington, DC

Hello, I am considering moving to Washington, DC. I am seeking suggestions for: employment, best companies to apply for admin asst positions; reputable temp-agencies, if I have to apply to them to seek employment; and housing, safest places to live. Please e-mail me with your suggestions at: irenescott1@verizon.net. Thank you!

Hi, I just relocated from that area in March of this year back to MO. We lived in Springfield, VA which is a reasonable commute to DC as well as safe place to live. I too am a Administrative Assistant. When we first moved there I was not able to find a position due to only holding an Associates Degree instead of a Bachelors. Most of the positions for an Administrative Assistant required a Bachelors, especially in DC. The job market in Virginia may be a better choice. If you have the time and money to fly there, try finding a job before you move. There are some positions that are entry level or only require an Associates. There is also an agency called "Keepers" that you may want to check out. I spent time obtaining my Microsoft Office certification to give my resume and "edge" over others. Right before I found out we were moving back here I started receiving calls to interview. You did not mention what degree or certification you have so I hope this information is useful to you.
