Work Sharing

Due to a medical condition, I will be reducing my work-week hours, and my full-time position will be changed to a "work share" position. Other than the obvious need to be compatible and division of duties, does anyone out there have any pointers for me. Thanks!

You can find out whether your state has a shared work program online or contact your local employment office for more information. In some states, the unemployment compensation laws allow you to collect partial unemployment benefits during a work-sharing period. The employee may be eligible to receive partial benefits under the regular unemployment insurance program. Hope this helps. Anonymous on 8/14/2009 12:34:57 PM
Rebecca: I am sorry about you health problems and hope with time you will get better. I asked our Human Resource Manager if she could help and the following are links she sent me: http://moss07.shrm.org/TemplatesTools/Samples/SupervisoryNewsletter/fall05/Pages/story2.aspx http://moss07.shrm.org/Research/Articles/Articles/Pages/CMS_000005.aspx http://moss07.shrm.org/TemplatesTools/Samples/HRForms/Articles/Pages/CMS_022519.aspx Good Luck! Rebecca - My job-share partner just retired last September and now I'm working full time. We job-shared for 11 1/2 years and I would be happy to talk to you about some of the things that we did to make transition easier, communication excellent, and backing each other up smoother. My work number is 616-698-1700 and my email is aadams@steelcase.com. I work in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Please feel free to give me a call so we can talk. Sorry about your medical problems, but good luck with the job share situation! Audrey Adams on 8/13/2009 11:18:23 AM
